FoodPro is back, and it is the big one. After three years away, Australia’s largest and longest-running food manufacturing event returns to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 26 to 29 July 2026.
Four days. More than 400 exhibitors. Around 9,000 people from every corner of the food and beverage supply chain, all under one roof. If you make, pack or process food in this country, this is the room to be in.
We will be there too, at Stand X44, showing what happens when ambition meets food packaging automation. Here is everything worth knowing before you go, and why the timing might be right for your line.
FoodPro 2026 at a glance
FoodPro has run since 1967 and returns every three years, alternating between Sydney and Melbourne. This year it comes home to Melbourne, and organisers are calling it the country’s only major food processing and packaging trade event of 2026.
In other words, if you are going to spend one day evaluating equipment this year, this is the day to do it.
What’s new at FoodPro 2026
The 2026 program is the fullest it has been in years. A few things stand out.
A new FMCG segment
For the first time, FoodPro adds a dedicated FMCG segment built around high-speed portioning, packing, labelling and retail-ready solutions. If you supply the major retailers, this is where the speed-to-shelf technology will be running.
The AIFST Conference, co-located
In a first for the event, the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology Conference runs alongside FoodPro across all four days. You can move between scientific sessions and the show floor without leaving the venue, which links the research side of food with the production reality on the floor.
AIP packaging training and the PIDA Awards
The Australasian Institute of Packaging runs certification-backed training and seminars throughout the event, covering sustainability, innovation and regulatory compliance. The Australasian Packaging Innovation and Design (PIDA) Awards Gala Dinner is held alongside FoodPro on Tuesday 28 July, and it is the entry point to the global WorldStar Packaging Awards.
A free Innovation Stage
Free for every registered visitor, the Innovation Stage runs up to five sessions a day across all four days. Expect talks on automation advances, sustainability and the technology reshaping food manufacturing at scale, all without leaving the floor.
Ten segments, live demos and an opening night
The show floor spans ten segments, plus a new Supply Chain Integrity Zone. Best of all, you will see live equipment running, not just static stands. Things kick off with an Industry Connect Evening on 26 July at Melbourne Public on the Yarra.

Why FoodPro matters when you’re on the cusp of growth
Here is the honest version. Most food producers do not need more noise about the factory of the future. You need to know whether the next machine pays for itself, whether your maintenance team can live with it, and whether it buys real headroom. That is the conversation FoodPro is built for.
FoodPro is the one place in Australia this year where you can compare that step across hundreds of exhibitors in a single afternoon, watch the equipment run, and talk capital and payback with the people who actually install it.
Meet Select Equip at Stand X44
We are an Australian distributor of food packaging automation machinery, and our whole focus is that growth threshold. We are not here to push the biggest, most complex line on the floor. We are here to match the right entry-point automation to where your business is actually headed.
Here is what you will find at Stand X44.
The hero: a smart, compact VFFS bagger
Our headline machine is a smart, compact vertical form fill seal bagger that delivers high production per square metre. If floor space is tight and output needs to climb, this is the kind of asset that changes the maths. Come and watch it run.
Automation that respects your floor and your team
Everything we bring is chosen for real production: reliable output, a footprint that fits, and machines your maintenance team can actually keep running. High performance, without the fragility.
A conversation about capital, not just kit
We talk in terms of investment and payback, because that is how these decisions get made. Bring your volumes, your bottlenecks and your growth plan, and we will be straight with you about what makes sense and what does not.
Plan your visit to FoodPro 2026
A few practical notes to make the day count.
Getting to the MCEC
The venue sits at 1 Convention Centre Place, South Wharf. Trams 96, 109 and 12 stop at Casino/MCEC/Clarendon Street right outside, and Southern Cross Station is a ten-minute walk. One heads-up: the MCEC is a cash-free venue, so bring a card.
Register first, it’s free
Visitor registration is open and free for industry professionals across manufacturing, packaging, research and development, supply chain, technology and sustainability. Register online before you arrive and skip the queue on the day.
Book time with us
Stand X44 gets busy across four days. If you want a proper conversation about your line rather than a quick hello, get in touch before the show and we will hold a time for you.
See you at Stand X44
FoodPro 2026 is where Australia’s food industry sizes up its next move. If yours involves growing without breaking what already works, come and find us. This is where ambition meets automation.
